As a coach, I have FOUR rules that I insist my players follow. These are intended to give each and every kid on the team, regardless of their current skill level, a chance to grow and develop as a player.
Listen
Always listen when the coach is talking. Even if the talk is directed at another player, take the chance to learn.
DO NOT be a distraction to others.
Work Hard
Practice time together is limited, so I need every player to be working his hardest for the time we have. They also need to take the drills and info we work on home and practice.
Be a Team Player
I do not tolerate selfish play on my team. Our offense and defense depend on everyone doing their job and playing their role.
HAVE FUN!
This game is fun. That's why we do this. I want to make this fun for every player on the team. However, to do so, players must follow the other rules.
